PRODUCTION OF PAINT DRYING ROBOTS WITH THE INFRARED GAS FED CATALYTIC SYSTEM

With traditional drying booths, which transmit heat by convection (i.e.: by moving hot air), it is necessary to heat the 80/120 sq. m of the painting booth, even if the piece is limited. There is an evident waste of both time and heat. Moreover with the arrival of two component products, which double the painting drying phases, body shop workers have found themselves with the problem of having to speed up work cycles for obvious reasons.

The two innovative systems that Ionitec proposes satisfies these needs, improving the quality of results and taking less time than traditional systems.

The two models are the same regarding safety, strength and management of controls.
They differentiate only regarding the working width of movement.
- ATON Gold has two emitting semi-arches controlled symmetrically or independently.
- ATON Silver possesses only one semi-arch of greater width able to rotate around the vehicle.

Main features of the ATON systems

1) Semi-arches which are totally independent both regarding movement and regulation.
2) Total arch for uniform covering of painted surface (particularly for roofs and boots)
3) Standard anti-collision safety system.
4) Control system with 15”Industrial Personal Computer with graphic colour PLC virtual Touch screen. Work environment Microsoft Windows XP
5) Remote assistance on-line through Internet. The ATON system can send malfunctioning messages automatically to the Ionitec assistance centre.
6) Single robot for booths 3800 mm to 4500 mm.
7) Complete rotation around vehicle with adjustable movement and rotation speeds from 100 to 2500 mm/min
8) Possibility to dry vehicles width 1400 mm to 2000 mm without any changes to programming.
9) Independent structure from spray booth allowing perfect ATON movement.
10) Maximum measurements of vehicle to dry – height 1930 mm(without roof drying), width from 1200 mm, height of ATON from ground 80 mm (Possible if compatible with booth size)
11) The system carries out continuous working auto-diagnosis with visualization of malfunctioning messages.
12) Sound alarm fitting in the eventuality of breakdown of the control system (watch dog)
13) Automatic control of temperature of the catalytic panels.
14) Complete rotation for up to three painted parts per cycle.
15) During drying process it is possible to keep oven switched off (given the intrinsic certified safety of catalytic panels), that is:

- No energy consumption
- Considerable temperature increase inside booth with good drying of parts including those not directly irradiated.

16) Incorporated device to avoid the necessity of perfect vehicle alignment

ATON Options

1. Space wagon solution: automatic lifting of semi-arches for drying roofs height up to 2000 mm.
2. Possibility to conform catalytic panel inclination to follow profile of drying piece. Each semi-arch regulates its own distance with ultrasound keeping it continually unaltered from stat to finish of work.
3. Possibility of stainless steel guard for easy cleaning.
